Sharing is Living

Although ignorance can sometimes be bliss, there were many times when I regret not knowing about something. One was never having read Atlas Shrugged until I was 26, and two, never having known about Site Build It! until few days ago.

I was looking at ways how optimize my dad’s website, which I just made . I googled this and that, and finally I ended up at this great website. This girl wrote like nothing I’ve ever seen before. So honest, so direct, so giving, so no-nonsense. I immediately liked her, and she recommended Site Built It! for creating a website. I was skeptical, but I was curious. So I went to SBI!’s website to see what could be so great about this “website building tool”.

Turns out, it is sooooo good! I can’t believe such a system exist, and has existed since 2000?! Gosh how many years have I wasted? These past few months I’ve been chasing SEO techniques and tips and tricks. But SBI! is not anything like that. In fact, they taken the SEO part almost entirely out (at least the technical geeky part of it), and have us focus on the most important thing on website creation itself. What’s that you asked? Why, content content content, of course!

I got over my self loathing fast enough, and now I am a proud SBI! newbie to make up for lost time. If only the regular people know more about SBI!, they could have a succesful website overtime.

Oh yeah, SBI! is not a magic formula, get rich quick scheme, the guarded secret etc etc that we’ve seen at so many places. If you’re looking for the cash button to click, this is totally not it. They provide the system and the framework, but you still have to work on it. You still have to create super content, but they will help you be more effective on it by taking care of the technical parts.

You gotta see their website, and you’ll be astounded by how many free quality materials they provided for you! That’s just too generous. But that is what they teach, and they obviously practice what they preach: to oversell/overdeliver great content. I consider the $300 price tag as reasonable, if not cheap. And I am Cheap!

Anyway, I just want to share this one. It’s really cool, I wish more people have it. Not only we, the searchers, would find great information faster out there, we’d also have profitable websites. As for me, I’m now at Day 3, and busy at brainstorming and pruning my keywords (yes, keywords are still in, but not in the way you think). And dude, let me tell you one more time, this is WORK! Real work, no shortcuts, no plugins, no searching for this and that. But it is fun and exciting! I should be doing that instead of writing this, but I just have to share. I’ll be back to my SBI! homework for sure. I can’t wait to finish, but I’m gonna take time to really do it well.

Update: I am now happily and merrily building my new SBI site, holiday-in-angkor-wat.com. Kinda cheesy address? Hehe so be it. So in a fact, am having a write up on that Cambodian trip, a whole website dedicated to it!

I have a buddy who is also an SBIer, Sue, and she helps me being on track in adding my content pages. Her site is about stained glass, and she’s now working on her ebook. SBI is really cool!
