Lots of different things

January 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

Wow, it’s been a while since my last post. So many things that I’d like to put down, but I’ll do a short version for now.

  1.  Just got back from my trip to Malaysia and Cambodia, and wow, that was one of the best trips I’ve ever had. I plan on writing it up, if only for my own selfish pleasure of reliving the trip and being fulfilled by it.
  2. Ron Paul seems to be winning Louisiana, but no official numbers yet? What craziness. But 2nd place in NV (hooyah!), and as usual, no press coverage. Ho hum, what to expect from the old media.
  3. The US stock market is getting scarier by the day. The market is in panic, I’m in panic! Yes, I believe the US is in recession, no matter what Bush said. Now, it seems, the rest of the world is catching on. The 9 trillion dollar debt is due now. Crap.
  4. Heath Ledger died. Good lord!  He’s one of my fave actors so far. No more First Knight, Casanova, Brokeback? I didn’t even know that he split up with Michelle Williams.
  5. I finished Ayn Rand’s Atlass Shrugged and The Fountainhead. Wow, she is my current fixations, now and for the next few months. Why didn’t I find out about her sooner? Also, I’m so excited about the prospect about Angelina Jolie playing Dagny Taggart in the upcoming movie adaptations. Not sure if Jolie could pull it off, but hey, to see any portrayal of Dagny Taggart on screen would be amazing. I had thought that there would be fanfictions abound for sequels to those two novels, but I couldn’t find anything. Understandably, no one but Ayn Rand could conceive how Dagny or Roark would act in the ‘future’. I wish someone would try though.

The world seems to be moving so fast, things are happening so quickly. I’m pretty sure it’s because I’ve learned about many things lately. If I was still in ignorance, and not being aware of those new things and my surroundings, they wouldn’t ‘exist’. So true that we make up our own world. That sentence is true in so many ways.

Till next time. Soon I will post the newest blog carnivals!
